Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the sugar cookie dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza pan to create a large rectangular or circular base. Trim edges if necessary.
- Bake the cookie dough base for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
- While the cookie base is cooling, prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Once the cookie base is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly across the surface.
- Create the American flag design: arrange the blueberries in the top left corner to represent the stars, then layer alternating rows of strawberry slices and banana slices to represent the stripes. Add raspberries to enhance the red stripes as desired.
- Refrigerate the fruit pizza for at least 30 minutes to allow the frosting to set.
- Slice and serve chilled!
Notes
You can substitute other fruits like blackberries or kiwi for a different look. Make sure the cookie base is completely cool before adding the frosting to prevent melting.
