Preparation
- Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, honey, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Adjust sweetness with more honey if needed. Chill while preparing other items.
- Unfold the puff pastry and cut into 8 squares. Top each with a smear of the creamy dip, a few chopped roasted red peppers, and a sprinkle of feta. Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes until golden and puffed.
- Toast the mini buns lightly. Spread Dijon on the bottoms, layer with a spoonful of sun-dried tomato, mixed greens, and either a slice of roasted turkey or a grilled veggie patty. Secure with a skewer.
- Thread cherry tomatoes, olives, small mozzarella balls (if using), and basil on short skewers. Drizzle with olive oil and a touch of balsamic right before serving.
- Slice a baguette and toast slices. Spread a thin layer of jam or lemon curd, top with a shard of dark chocolate or a sprinkle of toasted nuts. Garnish with micro basil or mint.
- Combine mixed greens, chopped roasted peppers, toasted nuts, and crumbled cheese. Dress lightly with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Place warmed tarts, crackers, sliced veggies, and the chilled dip into separate bowls. Label any allergens and provide small plates for guests to build.
- Arrange everything on large platters, add fresh herbs and lemon wedges, and make sure napkins, small plates, and wine glasses are within easy reach. Light a candle or two and put on a fun playlist.
Notes
Make the creamy dip and marinated veggies the day before to save time. For vegetarian guests, swap turkey for grilled portobello slices or halloumi cheese in sliders. Use cookie cutters on the puff pastry for heart shapes to make it festive and fast. Keep one bowl of plain crackers or bread for guests who prefer simple or allergen-free options.
