Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • resealable plastic bag
  • grill
  • tongs

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the sweet tea, lemon juice, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, paprika, black pepper, and salt to create the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring the pieces are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels to remove excess liquid.
  5. Place the chicken on the preheated grill. Cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is golden brown with grill marks.
  6. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the Sweet Tea Grilled Chicken with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken overnight. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a slightly different flavor.
